Mission Statement

To provide learning opportunities, resources, facilities, and services to support teaching, research, scholarship, and cultural activities at Alabama State University and its local and global communities.

Values Statement

The University Library and Learning Resources Center, serving ·as the premier information resource for Alabama State University's academic community, shares the following values:

• We value intellectual freedom and an environment that fosters academic learning.
• We value all members of the ASU community and our willingness to provide quality customer service.
• We value our participatory management style which allows for collaborative participation in library decision-making through committees and teams.
• We value the University's role in the Modern Civil Rights Movement and its own unique collection of original resources which documents this historical period.
• We value our cooperative relationships with other libraries and consortia to provide timely and accurate retrieval, dissemination, and resource sharing of materials regardless of format.
• We value our resources and strive to preserve them using the most effective technologies
